What is it about?

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue never sees them–until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.

His name is Gansey, a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn’t believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

We have Blue: A normal teenager who lives in the little Henrietta Virginia with her psychic family (all of them females) but Blue is the only one who is not a psychic, she only can amplify the power of other people, which is something useful to her family. Since Blue was a child her family has predicted that the day she kiss a boy, this one is going to die. Due of that she has to avoid love. Ok so the thing that one night in St. Mark’s day Blue has to go to the old church with her mysterious aunt Nevee to see the spirits of the people who’s gonna die that year. Obviously Blue can’t see them so she has to write their names. But for a weird reason Blue sees a spirit with the name of GANSEY, Blue gets confused and this is when her aunt tells her that if she sees an spirit in St. Mark’s day means that or either she’s gonna kill him or is gonna be the love of her life. Blue discovers Gansey is a rich kid from a private school called Aglionby and for circustances of life the paths of Blue and Gansey and his group of friends are going to be intertwined to find a sleeping king named Glendower.

About Gansey and the raven boys: Gansey it’s super obsessed to find a sleeping king who might be buried in Henrietta. Gansey it’s a little nerd but also is a magnific person, he always care of his friends. Adam is another member of Gansey squad, he’s the opposite of Gansey, he doesn’t have much money and has to struggle with family issues. ADAM IS BEAUTIFUL. Next we have Ronan the rude boy of the group. He’s sarcastic but also has his own secrets and last we have Noah that I can only say that hes quite quirky and weird.

I LOVE THE CHARACTERS. Blue and The Raven Boys are the best together. The thing that I like the most is that each one of them it’s different but there’s something that keeps them together. They are deep and ugh I just don’t have the proper words to explain how much I liked them. I wouldn’t say this book it’s focused in love, it’s more focused on friendship and find oneself.

The book has magic and mystical things which is great! but I can tell you a few problems that I had with this book, for example the writting style; it’s too descriptive (but is beautiful) and yeah because of that you might feel the book is slow but ignore that and keep reading it, it get’s better 🙂 despite that I loved the book. It kinda blowed my mind with the things that happened haha. I think you should read it. This series are different from the rest, specially the plot and the characters. UGH. Did I said I love them? lol. I’m currently reading the second book, let’s see what happens!

In short, if you want to read something different, magical with good characters read this! and if you’ve read it please let me know your thoughts!
